Volunteers work with us in a variety of ways. 

Process donations at our ReStore, help build or repair

a local home, or act as Ambassador at fundraising events - there are many opportunities to contribute ​in a meaningful way.

We are always looking for volunteers to help in our ReStores. We have two ReStore locations in Greater Victoria - Victoria and Westshore.

Our ReStores are open 7 days a week with different shifts to suit your schedule.

There are so many ways to volunteer at the ReStore. Volunteers help with receiving and sorting donations, assisting customers, stocking shelves, merchandising the store floor and so much more!

Gingerbread Ambassadors:

Habitat Victoria's 18th Annual Gingerbread Showcase fundraiser is fast approaching, and we need YOUR help!
Once again hosted at the fantastic Hotel Grand Pacific, we look forward to welcoming the many visitors who come out to view and vote for their favourite creation. This iconic Victoria holiday event features local professional and at-home bakers building imaginative gingerbread creations, all in support of Habitat Victoria. 

The show runs daily from 9am to 9pm from Friday, November 20, 2026 through Sunday, January 3, 2027. Shifts are 3 hours long, with 2-3 ambassadors per shift. Sign up for as many as you like.  

Volunteer ambassadors help greet guests, encourage them to vote and donate for their favourite, and spread the holiday cheer.

Team Build Days:

Build Volunteers:

Habitat Victoria is looking for handy volunteers to assist with upcoming builds and home repair projects – construction, renovations, demolitions, and more.  Crew leads, tradespeople, and general labour.

​Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Victoria ReStores. The information you provide on your form will help us to place you in one (or more) of the volunteer positions that best suits your interests, skills and our current needs.  

Please note: we are not currently accepting applications for home build volunteers. Event volunteer opportunities are listed separately above.

ReStore Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older

  • Commit to volunteer a minimum of three months

  • Complete the required orientation and safety training

  • Be able to follow instructions independently 

  • Have a keen eye for safety and ability to follow safety regulations
