Builds

Family-sized affordable homes to purchase.

When was the last time you heard about three-bedroom, two-bedroom, or one-bedroom affordable homes that you could purchase?

Habitat is proposing exactly that in the Gordon Head community of the District of Saanich.

Our new build is located in a family-supporting neighborhood. It is within walking distance of multiple parks, schools, bus routes, and shopping. We believe that families with small children will find this build compelling.

This project is currently being planned as 13 homes configured as stacked townhouses, of which 6 will be three-bedroom homes, 3 will be two-bedroom homes, and 4 will be one-bedroom homes; however, this may change as we try to get municipal approvals.

All this construction activity means the need to raise funds for our build program is greater than ever before. Your participation in this event will allow us to give over 10 families a hand-up into affordable homeownership.

When was the last time you heard about three-bedroom, two-bedroom, one-bedroom, or accessible, affordable homes that you could purchase?

Habitat Victoria is building exactly that in Langford.

Our first Langford build is taking shape on Irwin Road. Nestled at the foot of Mount Wells and surrounded by forest trails and bike paths, this future Habitat Victoria community will transform an empty lot into 26 affordable townhomes designed for local families, working professionals, and individuals who are increasingly priced out of homeownership. Built right here in Langford, the development will provide a hand-up to homeownership and help more people put down roots in the community they call home.

Phase one will deliver up to 16 energy‑efficient homes for families, including single‑parent households, newcomers, Indigenous families, and residents with accessibility needs. More homes are planned for the following second phase.

With strong early support from the City of Langford and other partners, we’re aiming for our fastest construction yet.

Affordable Homeownership has a place in our neighbourhood.

After moving into their Habitat home, studies have shown that partner families experience improvements in their physical health, education, employment, financial security, and community involvement. Habitat for Humanity is Canada’s only charity focused on providing working families the option to own their own homes. We are an important part of the housing continuum. At Habitat Victoria, we believe Canadian working families should still have the option to own their own homes.

“Together, we build a safe, stable and long-term foundation for families in our community.” - Carmen Rempel, Chief Executive Officer

Please consider making a donation to Habitat Victoria's build fund today as we prepare for our next project.

Your support will help more local families build strength, stability and independence through our affordable homeownership program and contribute toward the building of eleven new Habitat homes over the coming year. We hope that all of our new partner families will find support and friendship with their neighbours and be part of building a stronger community.
