Gordon Head, Saanich

Coming Soon

Family sized affordable homes to purchase.

When was the last time you heard about three-bedroom, two-bedroom, or one-bedroom affordable homes that you could purchase?

Habitat is proposing exactly that in the Gordon Head community of the District of Saanich.

Our new build is located in a family-supporting neighborhood. It is within walking distance of multiple parks, schools, bus routes, and shopping. We believe that families with small children will find this build compelling.

This project is currently being planned as 13 homes configured as stacked townhouses, of which 6 will be three-bedroom homes, 3 will be two-bedroom homes, and 4 will be one-bedroom homes; however, this may change as we try to get municipal approvals.

All this construction activity means the need to raise funds for our build program is greater than ever before. Your participation in this event will allow us to give over 10 families a hand-up into affordable homeownership.

Tackling the Housing Crisis in your neighbourhood

Saanich’s housing needs report identifies a housing shortfall of over 4,000 homes. The province of BC requires Saanich to build over 4,000 in the next 5 years. Meanwhile government is focused entirely on funding the construction of rental homes. Habitat for Humanity is Canada’s only charity focused on providing working families the option to own their own homes. We are an important part of the housing continuum. At Habitat, we believe Canadian working families should still have the option to own their own homes.

Together, we build a safe, stable and long-term foundation for families in our community.
