HarbourCats Baseball Summer Partnership
Habitat Victoria has partnered again with the Victoria HarbourCats Baseball Club. Through this partnership we create community visibility and raise funds for Habitat's mission to help local families achieve affordable homeownership.
Volunteers help at HarbourCats home games by acting as ushers - helping attendees find their seats, offer directions within the park, control foot traffic, and cheer for the home team.

3rd Annual Open a Door Charity Art Auction
Habitat for Humanity Victoria’s Open a Door Online Charity Art Auction!
Habitat for Humanity Victoria is excited to announce that the 3rd Annual Open a Door charity art fundraiser is now live! Local artists have shared their vision of a brighter future by reimagining a door or small piece of furniture selected from the Victoria or Westshore ReStores. Their one-of-a-kind creations support our mission to build strength, stability, and independence for working families in our community.
The online art auction is now open and runs until Saturday, May 24, 2025. Once again, these imaginative works are on display at Centre Court in Mayfair Shopping Centre, our venue partner.
16th Annual Gingerbread Showcase
An iconic Victoria holiday tradition, the Gingerbread Showcase is Habitat for Humanity Victoria's premier annual fundraising event, contributing to helping local families get a hand-up into affordable homeownership. 2023 was a record-breaking year, and we look forward to keeping that momentum in 2024.
The event sees over 15,000 visitors from school groups, community groups, Victoria locals, tourists and more. All attendees are encouraged to vote for their favourite and make a donation.
Habitat Victoria leans heavily on our amazing volunteer base to act as on-site Gingerbread Ambassadors, interacting with visitors of the event and helping with donations and information about the creations and Habitat’s purpose.

Open a Door 2024
This Spring, Habitat for Humanity Victoria is inviting the community, artists and makers to create their own unique vision of a future full of possibilities. We want these pieces to demonstrate your hopes and dreams, expressed through your unique style and talent.
Your canvas is a door, chosen from the ReStore up to a value of $100. This can be any type, material or size – it’s all up to you. Once you have chosen your door, and created your masterpiece it will be showcased across the region online, through our media partners and our stores, then auctioned to support Habitat’s work right here in your community.
This is a unique opportunity to create something beautiful, functional and inspirational that has a lasting impact in the region.
15th Annual Gingerbread Showcase
The Gingerbread Showcase is Habitat for Humanity Victoria’s premier fundraising event, raising funds to help local families achieve a hand-up into affordable homeownership. Each year, professional and amateur bakers spend hundreds of hours creating 100% edible gingerbread displays for visitors to come and donate to vote for their favourite. The creation with the most votes wins the coveted People’s Choice Award!
In 2023, showcase visitors were treated to a gallery of creative interpretations centered around the theme: Family Traditions. They cast an enthusiastic total of 14,360 votes for their favorite creations. Dutchak revealed, "Jessica Hoehne clinched the highly coveted People's Choice Award with her entry, Games Night. On behalf of the community and our organizers, we offer our thanks and congratulations."
A panel of seasoned judges also weighed in, presenting congratulations and prize ribbons to bakers in the following categories:

Best use of skill and technique - From Old to New by Sarah Rachel Hoffman
Best interpretation of the theme - Family Game Night by Mel Heibert and Sheena Wells
Most creative and original - Sharing the Night Together Once Again by Marciela Vazquez
Most diverse use of ingredients - What They Said by Teagan and Tracy Aitchison
