Road to Home Open House
When: Sunday, August 23rd 2020 10 am – 4 pm
What: We may not be travelling to far-away places, attending concerts, events or camps this Summer but that doesn’t mean we can’t create our own fun right here at home! Habitat for Humanity Victoria is inviting the community to come together for a physically distanced day of celebration and fun as we continue our latest build project in North Saanich. Visitors can learn more about our build, tour the site and compete for prizes while helping raise money to give eleven local families a hand-up into stable, affordable homeownership.
It seems a lifetime has gone by since we broke ground on our largest ever build project back in May. At the time, due to COVID-19 Habitat Victoria was unable to celebrate starting construction on 11 new homes for local families. We have taken this time to create a safe, physically distanced day of celebration and fun where we invite the community to visit our build site, witness the progress made so far and learn more about our program and its impact.
This is the perfect one-day activity for family and friends to take part in while maintaining their social bubble. Registered groups will receive a challenge card to complete independently around the Peninsula. Each challenge card completed will be entered to win prizes generously donated by local businesses! On the build site at Bakerview Place we will also offer guided tours, information on our Habitat programs and some additional fun activities for groups.
Each group registration includes:
All funds raised will go directly towards the materials needed to complete eleven homes currently under construction and help local families in need of an affordable place to call home!
