What was your inspiration?
I came from an archipelago and tropical country. My country has a lot to offer in terms of Coastal Living. I grew up on an island where fishing, beaches and resorts are the main source of living and that became my inspiration for this creation. I added the winter touch and the penguins because in my preschool years these two were on my list, to experience a White Christmas and play with penguins in the snow. How long did you take to make your creation? 1 week in total. What was the most challenging part? The most challenging part for me while doing this creation was making the gingerbread as I am not used to doing it. Making the gingerbread house with a frame is difficult and requires a lot of patience. I am happy that I pulled it off. What are you most proud of? Being able to join the Gingerbread Showcase in 2020 is already an achievement for me since it is my first time. I am most proud of the design and being able to pull off the smallest details. Did you use a unique ingredient or technique? Not many unique ingredients, but using gelatin as part of the design was a challenge. |
