What was your inspiration?
My creation was inspired by the beach in our neighbourhood “Siosun”. The beach is where my family and I have spent many hours. We spent numerous hours beachcombing with our sons, nieces, nephews, dog “Thunder” and now our grandson. We love watching sunsets, building driftwood structures, playing on swings, searching for crabs and other sea life under rocks, canoeing and storm watching from the tree line. This is what I call coastal living, having the ability to live close enough to enjoy the beach in every season. How long did you take to make your creation? 100hrs approximately (I don’t really keep track). What was the most challenging part? The most challenging for me this year was the scaling and hitting the height requirement. I think in the end I overcame this challenge well. What are you most proud of? I think that would be my gingerbread driftwood, I love the way it turned out. Did you use a unique ingredient or technique? I used packages of instant noodles to strengthen part of my base layer. This idea came from my sister, she has the best creative techniques and has always been an excellent resource for me and my creations. |
